KB "Panorama" has developed version 9.10.0 of the Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data Bank. The new version introduces support for mobile devices: the data bank interface automatically adjusts to screen width, allowing full operation on smartphones and tablets.

The updated interface enables quick browsing of the data bank's composition, metadata search, and work with the index map outside the workplace—in the field, at a facility, or on business trips, using a smartphone or tablet. This reduces response time to inquiries about the availability and characteristics of spatial data in the repository, allows monitoring it, and facilitates decision-making outside the office. A unified web interface for the data bank is provided for both PCs and mobile devices without a separate mobile application, preserving familiar search, selection, and synchronization procedures with the index map when using a touch screen.

The toolset is simplified for mobile devices: the most frequently used elements remain on the screen to avoid cluttering the interface. It is adapted for narrow screens—fields are positioned for easier input using a touch keyboard. In narrow browser windows, panels are arranged vertically, one below another. On wide screens, the familiar horizontal layout is retained. The user can manually switch the vertical or horizontal arrangement of panels at any time via the settings menu. The selected mode and panel visibility are remembered and restored upon next login. From the settings menu, the data tree, metadata table, and map can be collapsed or expanded. One, two, or all three panels can be left on the screen, depending on the current task. Synchronization modes with the index map are available: display all, only selected, or only chosen spatial data.

A specialist from the spatial data repository or cadastral service can use a smartphone or tablet on-site to check the availability of the required dataset in the repository, verify metadata (scale, survey date, coordinate system, approval status), and confirm that the material is suitable for the task, without returning to a stationary workstation.

Data security is ensured by access control based on the operating system's security features. Plain authentication, digest authentication, system authentication (via web server means), and domain authentication (Kerberos or ActiveDirectory) are supported. Enhanced security is provided through end-to-end authentication when working with the database. The database connection uses the permissions of the user operating the system. The software is adapted for a wide range of operating systems (Astra Linux SE, Ubuntu, RED OS, MS Windows, and others) and architectures (Intel, Elbrus, Baikal). The program is registered in the national software registry under number 1862.

The Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data Bank serves as the foundation for building spatial data infrastructure at federal, regional, and municipal levels, and within corporate information systems. Within a unified geospatial environment, it implements collection, storage, quality control, search, and distribution of spatial data in exchange formats. Spatial data selected using the program can be made available for multi-user access on the GIS Server and published according to international OGC standards (WFS, WFS-T, WMS, WMTS, WCS) on the GIS WebService SE application server. Users can access the data both from thin clients (using GIS WebServer SE) and desktop applications (GIS "Panorama", GIS "Operator"). The data bank enables the construction of cloud storage for spatial data, provides access to this data, and supports automated generation and updating of geocoverages.

The current state of spatial data is displayed using index maps maintained for each stored data type: vector maps, remote sensing data, elevation matrices, and terrain models. Remote placement of spatial datasets into file storage, version management of stored datasets, updating index maps of data availability, automated metadata collection and generation, and geocoverage creation and updating are provided. Automated metadata collection and generation are performed according to ISO 19115:2003, Geographic information — Metadata, and ISO/TS 19139, Geographic information — Metadata — XML schema implementation standards. Reduced copies of data images are automatically generated, checksums of files are verified, and dataset completeness is checked. Placement of spatial data into file storage is carried out with integrity verification and control over data structure and content. Work results are logged and recorded in the metadata database. Automatic backup of metadata and spatial data storage with integrity control and data recovery is provided. A multilingual interface is supported.

The "Spatial Data Bank" portal demonstrates capabilities for organizing storage, accounting, and distribution of vector maps, remote sensing data, elevation matrices, and terrain models. The portal contains vector maps in SXF format, generated from open sources (OpenStreetMap, VMap0). Spatial data includes maps of subjects of the Russian Federation, countries, and cities of near and far abroad. In total, there are over 460 vector maps and 6,700 raster data items with a total volume exceeding 100 GB. KB "Panorama" specialists update and refresh the portal's content weekly. All published data is distributed free of charge under a free license.

The new version of the program is available on the Download page.

KB "Panorama" has developed GIS WebServer SE version 7.5.0 for Astra Linux, Alt SP, RED OS, Ubuntu, and MS Windows operating systems. The new version adds the "Image Recognition" component, enabling connection to the "Panorama Vision" automatic recognition and vectorization system directly from the geoportal interface.

The "Panorama Vision" system is designed for automatic interpretation of objects in satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and UAV data. It is based on artificial intelligence technologies using trained neural networks. The system can recognize contours of agricultural land, hydrographic objects, buildings and structures, roads, and forest fund objects (tall forests, undergrowth, and clearings). User-provided images or data from open sources can be used for processing.

Recognition results are generated as a vector map, which can be opened on the geoportal for viewing and subsequent editing. The use of artificial intelligence speeds up the creation and updating of vector maps based on remote sensing materials.

The "Editor" component now includes an operation log with the ability to undo multiple sequential user actions. In the "Map Composition" mode, management of the dynamic label list for a layer has been implemented. The "Relief Profile" capabilities have been expanded: an option to select an elevation matrix for profile construction has been added.

The "Attribute Table" now allows changing column order and width. The "Object Panel" has expanded data display capabilities: support for service and JSON semantics has been added, along with settings for displaying unfilled attributes. The administration module now includes configuration for brief component descriptions and an improved user editing interface.

GIS WebServer SE is used in building closed corporate systems with protection of classified or commercially sensitive data. It is implemented using the GIS WebToolKit SE toolkit, which can be used in development environments utilizing JavaScript and TypeScript.

Based on GIS WebServer SE and other KB "Panorama" server products, the Regional GIS of the Ryazan Region (RGIS RO) has been implemented. RGIS RO is a specialized multifunctional geoportal whose interactive capabilities provide access to reliable information about objects of various categories. RGIS RO is accessible to a wide range of users, including authorities, citizens, organizations, potential investors, and private companies. The Regional GIS of the Ryazan Region aids in decision-making across various areas of socio-economic development.

The new version of the program is available on the website in the Download section.

Specialists of KB "Panorama" have prepared a video tutorial on creating a GIS application using the GIS Constructor for Qt Designer and an AI agent in the Cursor environment. The material is intended for programmers who need to quickly transition from problem statement to a working C++ project and reduce the amount of manual preparation of standard program code.

During the lesson, the developer formulates requirements for the future program in natural language and provides the AI agent with access to documentation, header files, and examples from the development kit. Based on this, the agent creates source code for a Qt Creator project, utilizing components of the GIS Constructor and MAPAPI functions. This approach automates a significant part of application development, helps developers understand the program interface more quickly, and frees up time for designing architecture, checking logic, and testing results.

The application being created opens and displays a selected map, allows configuring its display composition, panning and zooming, selecting objects within a rectangular area, managing selections, and creating and editing object geometries. These features are implemented using the QDMapView, QDMapManager, QDMapSelectRect, and QDMapEditMetric components. The ready-made components handle basic interactive operations with spatial data, so the programmer does not have to develop them from scratch.

GIS Constructor for Qt Designer provides visual and non-visual components, GIS core libraries, the MAPAPI interface, documentation, demonstration projects, and test data. The toolkit provides developers with a foundation for creating application systems for displaying, editing, and analyzing spatial information within the familiar Qt ecosystem. The combination of a ready-made technology platform with an AI agent reduces the effort required to learn the SDK, accelerates prototyping, and simplifies the transfer of proven solutions into custom projects.

The presented methodology can be used as a quick start for developing GIS applications and as a way to automate repetitive programming tasks. At the same time, the specialist maintains control over the requirements, analyzes the generated code, and verifies the correctness of working with spatial data.

You can view the new video material in the "Video Tutorials" section.
