Specialists from KB "Panorama" have prepared a video lesson devoted to the transformation of vector data and its reduction to a unified coordinate system. The video material examines the operation of the mode within , which makes it possible to georeference a user map in an arbitrary coordinate system to control points with known coordinates.
The full processing workflow is demonstrated — from connecting the initial data and selecting control points to obtaining the transformed map. The user can perform translation and rotation of the map and, if necessary, scaling of objects. As a result, a map is formed that is consistent in position with the reference spatial data and ready for further work.
The technology is in demand when working jointly with materials obtained from various sources. It makes it possible to georeference archival maps, schemes and plans, eliminate spatial discrepancies that arose during manual vectorisation, and also combine departmental data prepared in different coordinate systems.
The mode can be applied in cadastral and urban planning works to combine the boundaries of land plots and territorial zones, in forestry — to reconcile the quarter network and industry maps, in engineering surveys and infrastructure operation — to georeference schemes of pipelines, communication lines, power grids and other objects. In addition, the considered technology will be useful to geodetic and geological organisations, design enterprises, state authorities and local self-government bodies, as well as in the formation of municipal, regional and corporate spatial data funds.
The practical advantage of the mode lies in the possibility of using existing vector materials without re-vectorisation. This reduces data preparation time, makes it possible to preserve previously created geometry and attribute information, and simplifies the merging of heterogeneous materials in a single project.
The video material can be found in the section.
KB "Panorama" has developed version 9.10.0 of the . A new type of spatial data has been added to the program — point clouds, intended for centralised storage, accounting and issuance of laser scanning (LiDAR) materials and associated three-dimensional terrain models.
The exchange formats LAS (LASer File Format), compressed LAZ (LASzip), as well as the internal format of MTD are supported. Data sets are registered in the bank's storage as part of the "Point Clouds" group, accompanied by metadata and displayed on data availability schematic maps alongside vector maps, remote sensing materials, elevation matrices and terrain models.
Point clouds accumulated in the bank can be used in the formation of geo-coverages and the further publication of spatial information for multi-user access. This makes it possible to include the results of laser surveying in a single contour of the spatial data infrastructure — from the receipt and cataloguing of source files to the selection, issuance and display of current territory coverages.
The practical application of the new data type covers a wide range of state and industry tasks. In the field of cadastre and land management, point clouds make it possible to refine boundaries, elevation marks and the actual position of real estate objects. For urban planning and territorial planning, analysis of built-up areas, terrain and object density is in demand when preparing schemes and plans. In forestry, the new data provide assessment of tree stands, monitoring of logging and damage to plantations. A separate area is the prevention and elimination of emergency situations, where the consequences of floods, landslides and infrastructure destruction are promptly assessed. In addition, in the transport sector and in the operation of utility networks, the inventory of roads, bridges, communication lines and housing and communal services objects based on high-precision three-dimensional models is of great importance.
The Bank of Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data is the basis for building spatial data infrastructure at the federal, regional and municipal levels, in corporate information systems. Within the framework of a unified geoinformation space, the Bank of Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data implements the collection, storage, quality control, search and issuance of spatial data in exchange formats. Spatial data selected using the program can be placed for multi-user access on the and published according to international standards OGC WFS, WFS-T, WMS, WMTS, WCS on the application server. Users can access the data both from a thin client (using ) and from desktop applications (, ). The Bank of Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data ensures the construction of a cloud storage of spatial data, provision of access to this data, and automated generation and updating of geo-coverages.
The current state of spatial data is displayed using schematic maps that are maintained for each type of stored data: vector maps, remote sensing data, elevation matrices and terrain models. Remote placement of spatial data sets in file storage, maintenance of versions of stored sets, updating of data availability schematic maps, automated collection and generation of metadata, and formation and updating of geo-coverages are provided. Automated collection and generation of metadata is performed according to the standards ISO 19115:2003, Geographic information — Metadata and ISO/TS 19139, Geographic information — Metadata — XML schema implementation. Reduced copies of data images are generated automatically, file checksums and completeness of data sets are verified. Placement of spatial data in file storage is carried out with integrity verification and control of the structure and content of the data. The results of the work are logged and entered into the metadata database. Automatic backup of metadata and spatial data storage with integrity control and data recovery is provided. A multilingual interface is supported.
Data security is ensured by differentiation of access rights based on security tools included in the operating system. Basic authentication, digest authentication, system authentication (by web server means) and domain authentication (Kerberos or Active Directory) are supported. Additional security is provided by the use of end-to-end authentication when working with the database. Connection to the database occurs with the rights of the user working with the system. The complex is adapted for operation on a wide range of operating systems (Astra Linux SE, Ubuntu, RED OS, MS Windows and others) and architectures (Intel, Elbrus, Baikal). The program is registered in the register of domestic software under number 1862.
The "Bank of Spatial Data" portal demonstrates the capabilities for organising the storage, accounting and issuance of vector maps, remote sensing data, elevation matrices and terrain models. The portal contains vector maps in SXF format generated from open-source data (OpenStreetMap, VMap0). The spatial data includes maps of: federal subjects of the Russian Federation, countries and cities of the near and far abroad. In total, more than 460 vector maps and 6,700 matrix data sets with a total volume of more than 100 GB. KB "Panorama" specialists update and actualise the information on the portal weekly. All published data are distributed free of charge in accordance with a free licence.

KB "Panorama" has improved the process of preparing and publishing of server software products. Automated scanning of containers for known vulnerabilities has been added to the release procedure. The check is performed before each new image is placed in the centralised Docker Registry repository.
Based on the scanning results, components for which manufacturers have published security fixes are updated. The most secure version of the image at the time of release is placed in the repository: all identified vulnerabilities with available and compatible fixes are eliminated before publication. Vulnerabilities for which fixes are not yet available are taken into account when preparing subsequent builds.
The new procedure is applied when releasing images of the products: , , and . The use of verified versions reduces the risk of deploying software components with known remediable vulnerabilities, increases the security of the software supply chain and simplifies the installation and updating of server products. Documentation on working with images is available on the corresponding .
For deploying services, not only ready-made images based on Apache HTTP Server are released, but also images with PHP-FPM. The Apache variant is intended for quick launch of the application together with a configured web server. The use of PHP-FPM makes it possible to place the web server and the PHP application in separate containers, connect Nginx or Apache HTTP Server and manage their settings independently. The user can choose a suitable scheme in accordance with the adopted infrastructure and deployment requirements.
Access to the Docker Registry repository can be obtained via the .
Geoportal has been supplemented with a map of Quebec, formed according to OpenStreetMap data. To work with the map, you can use the program or other software products of KB "Panorama".
The map was led to the modernised classifier of large-scale plans of scale 1: 5 000 (map5000m). Publishing of updates in bank of spatial data is made by using the program of . Publishing contents of bank of spatial data on the geoportal and data access for downloading are implemented by means of .
Free maps on the basis of OpenStreetMap data are available for download on the page "Digital maps".
KB "Panorama" has developed version 9.10.0 of the . The new version introduces support for mobile devices: the data bank interface automatically adjusts to screen width, allowing full operation on smartphones and tablets.
The updated interface enables quick browsing of the data bank's composition, metadata search, and work with the index map outside the workplace—in the field, at a facility, or on business trips, using a smartphone or tablet. This reduces response time to inquiries about the availability and characteristics of spatial data in the repository, allows monitoring it, and facilitates decision-making outside the office. A unified web interface for the data bank is provided for both PCs and mobile devices without a separate mobile application, preserving familiar search, selection, and synchronization procedures with the index map when using a touch screen.
The toolset is simplified for mobile devices: the most frequently used elements remain on the screen to avoid cluttering the interface. It is adapted for narrow screens—fields are positioned for easier input using a touch keyboard. In narrow browser windows, panels are arranged vertically, one below another. On wide screens, the familiar horizontal layout is retained. The user can manually switch the vertical or horizontal arrangement of panels at any time via the settings menu. The selected mode and panel visibility are remembered and restored upon next login. From the settings menu, the data tree, metadata table, and map can be collapsed or expanded. One, two, or all three panels can be left on the screen, depending on the current task. Synchronization modes with the index map are available: display all, only selected, or only chosen spatial data.
A specialist from the spatial data repository or cadastral service can use a smartphone or tablet on-site to check the availability of the required dataset in the repository, verify metadata (scale, survey date, coordinate system, approval status), and confirm that the material is suitable for the task, without returning to a stationary workstation.
Data security is ensured by access control based on the operating system's security features. Plain authentication, digest authentication, system authentication (via web server means), and domain authentication (Kerberos or ActiveDirectory) are supported. Enhanced security is provided through end-to-end authentication when working with the database. The database connection uses the permissions of the user operating the system. The software is adapted for a wide range of operating systems (Astra Linux SE, Ubuntu, RED OS, MS Windows, and others) and architectures (Intel, Elbrus, Baikal). The program is registered in the national software registry under number 1862.
