Specialists from KB "Panorama" have updated the S57navy.rscz digital classifier for nautical charts to support S52 standard updates. Based on the IHO TRANSFER STANDARD for DIGITAL HYDROGRAPHIC DATA Publication S-57 Appendix A - Chapter 2 document, attribute characteristics have been clarified, and Appendix A - Chapter 1 object codes have been updated. In accordance with document S-52 Annex A: IHO ECDIS Presentation Library Addendum to Part I: S-52 ENC Symbol Catalogue, the visual appearance of objects has been refined.
As part of the update, a new classifier layer - "Archipelagic Sea Lane" - was added. The "Objects for Mariners" layer was enhanced. The classifier now includes 52 new conventional signs. Three characteristics have been added: "CLSDEF Class Definition", "CLSNAM Class Name", "SYMINS Symbol Instruction". The sizes of all signs in the classifier, key values and codes of semantic characteristics and conventional signs have been clarified.
When importing S57 nautical charts, datasets with nautical chart updates (ER profile) are processed, which are located in files with extensions 001, 002, 003 and so on. Update files must be placed together with the original dataset with extension 000 in one folder or according to the folder structure per standards.
S-57 is the main international format for navigational digital charts, intended for data exchange between hydrographic services, agencies, cartographic product manufacturers and systems. To ensure the prescribed format display of conventional signs for marine navigational charts, the IML library s57navy.iml is used. The S57navy.rscz digital classifier is included in for applying S57 standard nautical charts.
The updated classifier is available for download in the "Classifiers" section.
Specialists from KB "Panorama" have prepared a video tutorial on working with the mode of the application task in . The database involves storing approach routes regardless of their category, type, flight rules, and radio navigation aid used to construct their segments. The aeronautical information database specification does not separate approach routes into instrument or visual approaches. The separation occurs according to route parameter values, types of maneuvers used, and established aircraft categories when displaying information on the map.
The video tutorial demonstrates approach route database management. The dialog form consists of an aerodrome list and an approach route creation area. Approach route schemes do not have names. Division can be conducted by aircraft categories or execution phases - missed approach route and descent route in the holding pattern area. Instrument flight routes consist of segments (maneuvers). The complex identifies maneuvers by code and creates segment objects on the map in accordance with the description in the "Manual for Instrument Flight Procedure Construction".
Maneuvers are performed with specific flight parameters, location, aircraft state, and radio navigation aid availability. Each parameter for a specific maneuver can be mandatory, optional, or inadmissible. The mode's dialog window contains a "Route Maneuver Panel with Navigator". Using the navigator, you can create a new maneuver and edit parameters of the selected maneuver. Maneuver type replacement is used when it's necessary to change the type of an erroneous maneuver in the list and delete the maneuver. Unlike deletion of aeronautical chart elements, maneuvers are physically deleted and cannot be restored.
The training materials can be accessed in the "Video Tutorials" section.
Geoportal has been supplemented with a map of Tokelau, formed according to OpenStreetMap data. To work with the map, you can use the program or other software products of KB "Panorama".
The map was led to the modernised classifier of large-scale plans of scale 1: 5 000 (map5000m). Publishing of updates in bank of spatial data is made by using the program of . Publishing contents of bank of spatial data on the geoportal and data access for downloading are implemented by means of .
Free maps on the basis of OpenStreetMap data are available for download on the page "Digital maps".
Specialists from KB "Panorama," together with students from , have prepared a video tutorial on using the mode from the task panel. This mode is available in and GIS "Operator" for the "Astra Linux Special Edition" operating system.
The video tutorial demonstrates the process of adding a raster image insert into an existing project. After activating the mode, a rectangle for the insert is drawn (using two points), followed by the selection of an image file in PNG, JPG, or TIFF formats. Editing the image insert is performed using the "Edit Object Geometry" mode, which allows for moving and resizing the image frame.
Images within inserts are always fitted to the dimensions of the frame. If the frame does not match the proportions of the original image, the picture may appear stretched or compressed. To restore the image's proportions, use the context menu of the "Edit Content" mode, specifically selecting the "Restore Proportions" item.
You can familiarize yourself with the training materials in the section.
KB "Panorama" has developed the Automatic Recognition and Vectorization Complex version 1.7.0. The new version includes a "Complex Processing" recognition mode that allows creating vector maps with a complete set of objects from images using a single request: agricultural fields (arable land), water bodies (rivers, lakes and others), forests (mature forest, undergrowth, clearcuts), buildings and roads. As in the "City" recognition mode, the service not only finds buildings but also determines their subtype: residential structures (multi-story and individual), public buildings (schools, kindergartens, hospitals and others), industrial and commercial buildings (factories, shopping centers and others), garages (garage construction cooperatives). All buildings are automatically oriented along the direction of the nearest roads. The position of recognized building contours is adjusted to correspond to the foundation of structures.
To improve the accuracy of the final vector map, the "Panorama Vision" service automatically coordinates the boundaries of formed area objects (forests, arable land, water bodies, buildings) with each other. During complex processing, an additional option "Label object addresses" is available. When selected, based on integration with the address database of for the territory of the Russian Federation (address.gisserver.info), the service will add semantics to objects with house numbers, street names, cities and districts. Additionally, house numbers and street names will be applied to the map as labels.
When creating vector map objects, a unified classifier map5000m.rscz is used. For creating agricultural land objects, the "Agricultural land" object with code 71324000 is used, for hydrography - the "Water body" object with code 31120002. Mature forest is applied to the map as area objects "Dense tall forest" with code 71111110, forest undergrowth - as area objects "Forest undergrowth" with code 71113000, clearcuts - as area objects "Cut forests" with code 71112300. Paved roads are applied to the map as linear objects "Highway" with code 61230000, and dirt roads - as linear objects "Streets" with code 45200000. Buildings are applied to the map as area objects of the following types: "Residential building" (with key "a_residential_b"), "Public building" (with key "a_public_b"), "Industrial enterprise" (with key "a_industrial_b"), "Garages (GSK and others)" (with key "a_garages_b").
The "Panorama Vision" service allows processing terrain images in RSW, JPG, TIFF, PNG formats, as well as data from open sources (geoportals). To ensure high recognition quality, it is recommended to use images with spatial resolution up to 0.5-0.6 meters/pixel. The service is located on the Internet on KB "Panorama" servers. Access to it is provided from the list of applied tasks in GIS "Panorama": Launch applications – "Automatic image recognition" item, as well as using REST API protocol methods. To work with REST API, you need to obtain a registration key. You can familiarize yourself with the complete list of available methods via the . Obtaining address information about objects is available starting from GIS "Panorama" version 15.5.0 and higher. The current version of GIS "Panorama" is available in the section.
